Psalms 119:9 - BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word. -- Heeding the word provides cleansing.
1 Timothy 4:12 - Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Be an example in way of living and purity.
Matthew 5:8 - Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
The pure in heart are blessed. -- The pure in heart will see God.

Psalm 24:3 Psalm 24:4 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Clean hands and a pure heart are necessary to stand in God’s presence.

- Joseph was most unique in his faithfulness to God
- Joseph is truly one of the sterling characters of the Old Testament era.
- He was a favorite of his father, (cf. Acts 7:9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,).
- Joseph’s brothers sold him to a caravan of Ishmaelites who took him down to Egypt.
- In Egypt Joseph was bought by an Egyptian officer named Potiphar.
- Potiphar’s evil wife cast longing eyes toward Joseph. She attempted to seduce him, but he, with firm resolve, resisted, insisting: “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” ( Genesis 39:9 )
- Joseph was only seventeen years of age ( Genesis 37:2 Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; )!
- A young man, in a strange land, separated from his family and his center of religious strength — yet faithful to his God.
- We learn that Joseph was being used by Jehovah as an instrument of providence for the preservation of the Hebrew nation.
- Joseph would later recognize: “Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.” ( Genesis 45:5 ).
- Again, at the end of his life, to his brothers he said: “You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good … to save many lives” ( Genesis 50:20 ).
Think about it. God trusted a teenager to accomplish such a vital role.
